1964 GMC 1000 Red & Black.

Now that we have got the out side looking decent for under 60 bucks in the 5 mile pass post we can spend some time on the inside. I used more expensive paint on the inside because it will be more permanent then the out side i used duplicolor engine enamel red, black and clear coat to match the motor.

Don't forget to check the past projects on the truck under 5 Mile Pass. Also check out my 1960 K1000 4x4 Project.

Some of the inside of the truck has been hit with the 99 cent black paint doors dash ect.

Installed this bad boy after problems with the 1 bbl carb. It had issues with being 49 years old and one day it had been over flowing out the top of the carb with gas onto the hot manifold. Once it had cooled off i started taking the top off of the carb for yet another float adjustment it was full to the top with gas. I was being super careful not to blow my self up as my foot slips and knocks the wires out of the back of the alternator sparking them across the intake right by the gas i am so lucky i'm not scar face today!

The shifter knob and glove box kinda set the color scheme of the truck.

Just sanded the wheel down for the prep and a good cleaning it has a nasty black dust.

Gotta love that gloss.

A light sanding on the red where blacks going with 1000 grit.

AMERICA!

Cant beat that for a few cans of spray paint.

I'm sure you can see the red paint up there this is the second go at the roof had it orange peel the first time when i did the clear coat gotta love 10 hours of sanding above your head.

Ah Perfect!
This is how the checkers are made tape everything draw squares cut out the black ones and your good to go works best on bare metal.

This truck had the sun visor rails but no sun visor so as normal i make do with what i have or can buy cheaply and here's what i came up with.

Up until the fabric i had everything for this project and a trip to walmart for some thread and fabric ran under 20 bucks.

All done by hand.

Used POR 15 on the floor.

Note to self and anyone going to use POR 15 it stains your skin for 3 weeks...

If you want to see the latest project on the truck you can check it out at 2 Mile Pass. Also if you want updates on the truck don't forget to subscribe by email at the top!
